The 2013 and 2014 NWRC Summer Research Institute was located at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Each of these summers sessions provided a unique research and innovation experience for nearly 100 students.

2014 NWRC Summer Research Institute Program on Renewable Energy and Medicine
Goal: The main goal of each intensive 8 week research experience was to prepare students for graduate level research. Focus was offered for: developing technology design and testing; building prototypes of a new technology; learning how to deploy the technology to the market.
Qualifying Students: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to apply. Selected applicants who contribute to ongoing research and technology projects will be compensated with a competitive stipend.
Program Overview: Intensive eight-week program. Time is devoted to pursuing a research topic under the guidance of a faculty mentor and senior PhD students.
Outcome: Published research in the NWRC Proceedings of the Summer Research Institute publication and final symposium event participation.
